Wanneroo
Coming from a farming family It is common to view the landscape with some assessment of the indicators that are evidence for that land's capacity for production. In the case of this hillside in Wanneroo, at the North Western edge of Perth City, I was initially drawn to the rusty patchwork colours of the long tin shed in the market garden area of the foreground.
When I made the field studies the shed faded into relative insignificance and the lower lying water catchment areas started to influence my way of seeing and the physical treatment of the materials I was using, and the image became more about seeing and depicting the water at various wavelengths.
Upon review I most enjoy the use of controlled drips to enhance the treatment of the cloud forms and indicate lightening and the origins of the water that feed into that vital local catchment.
