Choices

At the simplest level this image uses two objects affixed to a deliberately earthen surface to draw attention to the tools and craftsmanship that many artists use. 

The first item is a wide extremely well used house painters brush shaped and kept through decades of use. The second is a handmade steel knife which has the colours of sharpened pencils upon the blade. 

A deeper consideration visually offers an arcane philosophical choice inherent within the global human condition; between dark and light, or good and evil, or creation and destruction.
