Chilli Beach
(Cape York Peninsula)
This ink and watercolour drawing uses a kind of primitive overlayed print made using sand from that beach itself.
I wanted to record an extra-ordinary day where the weather was behaving rather strangely. It was the first time I had seen a green sky and there was an overwhelming feeling of quietness.
The weather was inclement and cyclonic but the clouds rolled in like quiet soldiers.
